Take me out to the Ballgame!

Yesterday Andrew and I went to watch our local baseball team, the Whitecaps, play. They had a game postponed in July due to rain, so we got 2 games for the price of 1!

We got there early and found a shady place to eat. There are trails by the ballpark, so this is where we sat. Isn't it peaceful?

Last night was Minions night. So, in addition to the normal mascots, they had 4 minions there.

The Whitecaps have 3 mascots, but the main one is Crash the River Rascal. Isn't he cute?

Because they had 2 games to play, each game was only 7 innings, but we won both games! Go Whitecaps!

Throughout the game, they pull kids from the crowd to play some games. This is the sandwich game. They have to run and get all the fixings and then make the sandwich before the other team finishes. So fun to watch!

We decided we need to go more often. It was a great date night out, even though it was around 90 degrees!

  1. It has been so hot here that my husband has not been to a ball game. He is hoping he and son, Ben and grandson, Landon, can attend a Birmingham Barons game. When we lived in Atlanta when we were young a Braves game was a cheap date for us as we sat in the 2$ seats in the outfield. I wonder how much those go for now???

  2. Hi Heather, Sounds like a wonderful date night. It's been a long time since we've been to a game. You had a pretty spot to eat. Love the mascot photo. I love a two for one deal. Let us know if you plan another trip and I hope you keep winning!

  4. What a great time. Columbia has a new minor league team, the Fireflies. They've built a new stadium and we haven't been yet but your pictures make me think we need to go! The mascots are so cute! I love the minions. xoxo
